What is our Investment Philosophy?

Ultimately, we invest in people. Great teams can make average opportunities successful, while weak teams can squander or destroy the opportunities with the greatest potential. Success is often found at the intersection of great ideas, adequate capital and exceptional execution. While our capital is patient, there needs to be a clear and realistic pathway to profitability that provides dividends for its shareholders or an attractive exit. We provide counsel where appropriate, but we do not involve ourselves operationally. In some cases, we may require a seat on the board of the investee.

We believe that great opportunities are rare, so we reserve our capital for those occurrences. We invest under terms where the founders and investors win together. We have no interest in subsidizing high salaries while founders pursue their dreams. We invest in businesses that employ a lean cost model, where the cavalier use of capital is unacceptable. We invest in businesses that we understand and avoid those we do not.
